He visited Pakistan to inaugurate "Morgah Biodiversity Park". Secretary for Ministry of Economic Affairs Shuja Shah also attended the press conference.
Responding to a query, he said," Kashmir is the main issue between India and Pakistan, and my colleagues in the United Nations are working to resolve this issue between both the countries.
Kim-Hak-Su said the six percent growth rate in Pakistan was an indication that the country was progressing, adding Minister for State on economic Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar was optimistic that growth rate would further improve. China was experiencing the nine-percent Gross Domestic Products (GDP) growth rate, Iran 7.6 percent and India 6.8 percent, he said.
The innovative experience of "Morgah Biodiversity park", which will be established under the Unescap, was the first step in building pro-poor public-private partnership in protecting the environment in the country and increasing access of the poor to biodiversity.
Kim lauded the role of Attock Refinery Limited in creating the first public-private partnership for providing access to take advantage of bio diversity, and said the project would meet the target of reversing the losses of environmental resources by 2015, set out in the Millennium Development Goals of the UN.
He said the Unescap with the biodiversity project, was trying to create micro and macro linkages for poverty reduction in the country.
Responding to a question, he said better relation between India and Pakistan was the only solution for all problems including Kashmir issue.
